I think people have become accustomed to having constant access to others, due to our devices. Personally, just tell me where your headed. If I feel that the trip is taking longer than usual, I’ll check in. Other than that, I don’t feel I need to know their exact location.

I have zero problems with my partner knowing where I am. I’ve watched enough true crime to make sure I always have people looking out for me.

I’m pretty sure my husband never checks my location. But I mostly check his to see how long it will be until he gets home.

I don’t get this either. I have friends with adult kids (late 20’s-30’s) who insist that he “kids” allow Mom & Dad to see where they are. These adult children are out of state and one is even married!

I work in a dangerous part of town, the only times my husband asks me to share location is when I have to take an Uber because he cant pick me up ( we carpool) he's just concerned for my safety

Always on, married for 9 years. I know he never checks on mine. I usually check on his to know when to start making dinner, or when he goes on a bike ride to know where he is in case something happens

But why would you not? It less about “checking in” and more about “how long until he’s home with my take out” but also just..safety? If you’re not doing anything weird why do you care?

Just helps for planning meals and kid stuff to be like oh ok, husband’s still at the office so I’m gonna go ahead and feed the kids dinner vs. oh, he’s around the corner, I can hold of for five minutes so we can eat together. That’s like 99% of it. The other 1% is me losing my phone and him helping me find it lol

My husband is in the military. Sometimes, he says he’ll be home at 6pm and is still mad chilling at work. It helps me know when he’ll be home bc he never gets released when they say they will
