Monday morning, I woke up to my best friend on my mind & couldn’t shake it. I sent her an out of character text, “Let’s go get coffee soon, just as girls — take our mom and work hats off.” We’ve been best friends for nearly a decade. I have never asked her for an early morning coffee. That’s too structured for friends who come and go with ease into each other’s homes without notice. It felt so urgent.
