EWR from manhattan usually closer than JFK. If you are in lower manhattan it’s way closer. From my spot in north Brooklyn right now EWR no traffic in the morning is 35 min where JFK is 38 min.

From S. Island EWR is 10 minutes away.

For the same reason that the teams who play football in New Jersey are referred to as “New York Giants/Jets.”

Why WOULDN’T they include Newark?

Because it’s one of the biggest US international airports?

As someone who flies out of EWR or PHL I ask myself the same - I need a Newark/Philly filter. They always end up showing JFK/LGA which is like a 3 hour hike from me.

It’s a moot point

Ummmm if you live in any borough besides Brooklyn and queens EWR is definitely a viable option. Plus there are renovated parts, quite nice
