What a bummer! We had a negative experience once. @airbnb was very helpful, acted as mediator ( host wanted us to leave due to our legit concerns) but we stayed. We decided not to leave a review at all. Our rental history has been positive and didn’t want to risk the host saying nasty things about us. If you don’t comment, neither can they. Also, Airbnb keeps track of these events, and that host may get kicked off the platform.

I wish I had a personal AI agent watching my calendar that anytime I put on a reservation like that would pop up & say, "Hey, looks like you're staying someplace fancy. How about you reach out and find if there's anything going on during your stay, like that construction that pissed you before." - we stayed at a super nice hotel this summer but 1/4 was closed off and jackhammers were at it during the day. Will I remember for next time? Just advising others to check before their stay seems kind.

You should leave a review. Those reviews are the way that people looking at it know what to avoid. When we look at reviews, we look at patterns more than individual reviews, so your review might be an important part of the pattern!
