While we were making our way through the east side of town to the west we went along Thompson Street next to the Swannanoa River for the first time since Helene. This is 9 weeks later. Until you see it you have no idea about the destruction. So many places along here we’d go to all the time. I don’t know how people who have to drive this way every day do it. Helene
