My aunts friend was over that my daughter had never met. My aunt and her friend were conversing, meanwhile my daughter is in the background making so much noise. My aunts friend tried getting her attention to “silence” her, however my daughter continued making noise. My aunt got the attention of my daughter & repeated the same thing as her friend and my daughter immediately listened and lowered her voice. My aunts friend proceeded to say it was rude of my daughter not to listen to her.

Respecting our elders (as children) is not optional or at least it shouldn’t be. We’re raising kids to think it’s ok to disrespect adults just because they don’t know them and that’s CRAZY. As long as an adult is not asking my daughter to do anything that compromises her safety, or make her uncomfortable in any way then be respectful and do what’s asked of you then come talk to mommy…
