Can someone explain this to me, HOW am I supposed to answer the question “Do you have any siblings??” right after the fact that my brother (only sibling) just passed away. Do I just lie? Do I just respond with “oh it’s just me” from now on… askingformyself

For some people they talk about how they were raised and it greatly affected who they are today, even if they aren't close to their family anymore. If you look at the question as an invitation to get to know you better, you can decide in any conversation whether you want to share or not, and how much to share, including whether family members have died.
