I met a Palestinian man tonight, he was born in Jerusalem. I asked him if he had family still in Palestine - he just looked at me and gently said, “Of course. Every Palestinian is my family.” I truly don’t think that our (my) white, western, individualistic society can comprehend both the love and the heartbreak that comes with caring so deeply about your people and the land that you belong to.
