And it’s not like DS9 was the first woke Star Trek. Roddenberry created it to be woke…or as woke as a 1960s White man could conceive. No racism among Earthlings, no poverty or homelessness, a one world non-capitalist government, first interacial kiss on television, Earth was free of religion or religious zealotry. The Bridge crew had a Black woman, an Asian man, a Russian, a literal alien (Vulcan), and one White guy. Talk about diversity and inclusive representation!
