Watching BBC doc ‘Do They Know it’s Christmas’ & aside from Bananarama, spot the female artist. Before anyone says “it was brought together in 48 hrs, it was a case of who was available.” I disagree. All of the main track was sung by males. Yet Bananarama, the only female group represented were left to sing chorus. I’m not suggesting they were better singers than Bono (although if the cap fits,) I’m saying: why were they overlooked? Oh yeah, the patriarchy running the music industry.
