Yeah, it's a very regional game - Ontario would be the main area, but there are pockets of it around Canada. It's my theory that the reason why it's never caught on as a spring/summer sport is because it's played in hockey arenas and most kids (and their parents) want to play something outdoors, especially if they've been playing hockey in arenas all winter. Lacrosse is a fantastic sport though - very compatible with hockey. If my boys ever wanted to give it a try, I'd totally support that.

There are two types of lacrosse…field lacrosse (on a field about a size of a soccer field) and box lacrosse (played within the boards of a hockey rink).

Its on TSN with game of the week, or games are free on NLL+, and Sr.A, B and Jr. All play around the country in the summer. It's just the people in your bubble.

You’re just in the wrong circle :) Check out NLL. It’s a growing across Canada with new franchises and fantastic attendance. Not to mention it’s actually a great environment for live sports. Find a team near you and check out a game!

Lacrosse should be Canada's National sport based solely on its Indigenous origins.

Don’t know about where you are but here in Halifax we have a professional team The Halifax Thunderbirds so obviously there are people playing it. Since there is a National Lacrosse League.

Hockey is not now, nor has it ever been, Canada's national sport.
