He goes back to the safe space of a sequel, like after Black Adam bombed they announced Moana live-action and that he’ll return to Fast & Furious. Red One bombed, so they announce a new Jumanji. He knows how to fix his career after he breaks it. He’s never been a huge box office draw, but he knows how to save himself.

Making movies that cost that much is just ridiculous unless you have a near guarantee success on your hands like Infinity War/Endgame. The last Indy movie was way too expensive, Raiders was made fast and cheap and made a lot. This is why Horror is so good, making movies under 15 million, often way under that and then you get a few every year that make great returns.

This is the biggest nonsense I have seen in a long time. Moana 2 just beat the biggest 5 day opening ever. It beat Super Mario Bros by 20 million. $400 million worldwide in one week. It will surely go to one billion dollars by Christmas. The Red One has made $148 million but with barely any Christmas movies in theatres this year, it’s really the only option. Plus like you said it was made to be streaming. He also has a Benny Safdie movie coming out from A24 called The Smashing Machine.
