Finding out the details of what Brad Pitt did to Angelina Jolie explains so much. Horrifying, but it's not shocking. This happens every day to women of all economic levels. The fact that a rich, powerful woman like Angelina still had to go through hell to protect her children and herself should be eye opening for everyone. Men will probably still blame her for "turning the kids against him" even after the truth is out.
