I had my last phone, iPhone XS Max, for four years. I was so sad when I had to replace it but it did not survive my 6 month old. I’ve now had my iPhone 12 for two years and I’m planning on keeping it for at least one more year, hopefully two, but it all depends on the battery and my kids 🥲

Most 🤷🏾‍♂️ Not everyone upgrades their iPhone every year or has to bc of slowness. In our family I usually upgrade mine every 1-2 yrs. This time around I’m 3 yrs in without a desire to upgrade. When mine upgrades it gets handed down. Me -> wife-> son -> daughter. It’s by age. And between my wife and I, she never wants to buy one so she never gets the “new” one. Right now the oldest phone in the family is 6 yrs old. Needed a battery replacement about 4 yrs ago and it’s been going since.

iPhones from 6 years ago still get the newest software updates. Not only minor security patches, but the latest OS. And yes, I’m typing this from a 5 years old iPhone 11 running the latest iOS 18. So?

I still have my iphone 7+ from 7 years ago.
