Hot take: 30 fps for video games is fine in almost every scenario, and not playing a game because it doesn’t go past 30 is a strange way to gate keep yourself.

It's not gatekeeping when pretty much any game made currently is capable of doing it. Also 30 fps looks like shit to me.

I sometimes get nauseous when games are too sluggish. 30fps causes it for me sometimes. Depends on the game. I always play between 100 and 144fps. Just feels way smoother.

I mostly game with 30fps so my phone won't get too warm and uncomfortable to hold. So ya, 30fps is fine but 60fps is golden and 120fps and above is just gimmicks.

Anything above 60fps is generally for competitive reasons, if I'm playing something for the story and graphics, 30fps is okay but not optimal. Some people also just don't notice or "need" the extra frames, so whatever works for one person will always be different for another

I mean, I personally don't mind 30 fps, but maybe that's just because I grew up with the SNES and N64 era systems? And honestly, I'd rather have a rock solid 30 than a varying 45-60.

Gatekeep yourself... funny choice of words. 60fps is much, much better but I agree 30fps is alright for experiencing videogames

Having standards is not a bad thing. 30fps was supposed to be ancient history by the 8th generation and we're still dealing with companies tanking performance for visuals.

30 FPS is only adequate if you’re playing a single player game… the moment you step into a competitive multiplayer experience you’ll be wishing you had 120-140fps
