This is such a real feeling. I adore Frodo, he’s such a good dog. But I find myself struggling to connect with him sometimes. Because he isn’t Frankie, he’s so deeply, deeply different than her. Which is beautiful! And also devastating. I love him. But he isn’t my soul dog. And that’s okay, too.
