Go to the school. Get other parents if possible. Raise hell. That’s ridiculous & humiliating to a student or anyone for that matter.

No teacher or admin has the right to keep a child from using the bathroom. I’d be infuriated.

I’m literally 30 and have never been able to hold my bladder for a prolonged period of time like that. Yes. Raise hell. My own child has a bad relationship with the bathroom because of something the teacher did similarly in 1st grade. Now they’re scared to even ask to go.

Ms Barrera sounds like she did this to teach them a lesson. She is not apologetic in the real sense. More in the 'this is the consequence for students not doing as I told them and I will show them'. Like the school mistress in the fictional movie Matilda. She is a sociopath in her wording and total lack of concern for the children's needs. Where on earth were the other faculty?? Is this the norm at this school?? This woman needs to be removed from any position involving children. Period.

My kids have been instructed to disobey and ignore any faculty member that even tries to prevent restroom access. They just go and I deal with anyone who wants to complain bout it.
