Artists don't get paid directly by Spotify - their distributors do and it would be in one giant sum for all of the distributor's artists. So if you didn't listen to Drake, Drake isn't getting your money. UMG, in his case, is getting your money and you likely listened to other artists distributed by UMG so your money is still going where it should. 9 小時內	Daniel Ayers yo_daniel	People miss this fact all the time (Spotify pay the labels, not artists direct, in most cases). It's then down to the artist contract with the label as to what (if any) payment they get from that. The majority of artists are unrecouped (ie haven't earned back their advance, or recoupable marketing or touring costs), so they see very little of the sales income. For artists without a label but with a distribution deal, yes it's a more direct relationship between plays and money.
