Get a decent part d plan for prescription drugs and you'll be fine. We've researched advantage plans and even with my husband's myriad medical issues, it's really not worth it.

It's not a scam it is managed care. I could not be happier with Medicare advantage.

I have advantage plan and can’t believe how great it is. Had a surgery last year. Well over 100 grand. I didn’t pay a penny. I call that phenomenal.

I hear this comment, but no one ever defines what that means. How specifically is it a scam. Cause without it, I'd would not have gone to a doctor, and I would easily have died or ended up in the poor house. Generalizations are a real risk when it is our well-being at stake. Your needs are different than mine... talk with a representative or a broker like I do once a year and see what is best for you.

I tell people that if you can afford it, stick with regular Medicare.

I was told if healthy, Medicare advantage might be ok, but if not, regular Medicare, with a part D prescription plan and a good gap plan to cover copays, etc, will be more flexible and less expensive in the long run. You won’t have limits on coverage, preapproval headaches and where you can receive care.
