It’s sometimes a weird feeling to hear my full name being used because I figured I haven’t heard it that much in my whole life 😂😭

My sister went to school with a girl named Phykilakaydenicia AliceUniqua ReeseThompson and we all managed to say it just fine — they can say anyone’s name.

There are some folks that are missing the point. As a Black woman with a BIG BLACK name, my name is my identity. Yt folks who try to give a nickname or tell me they cannot pronounce my name are rather audacious and entitled., It is reminiscent of slavery (I.e. the Kunta / Tobi story). Absolutely not! Erasure will not be tolerated here. You will not call me what you want b/c it’s comfortable for you.

And if they say it’s too hard… Just know I’ve had white English people say ‘Karo’ is too hard.

Girl I always say this! You can pronounce bologna, Filet Mignon and charcuterie but give them a name that’s a bit different and all of a sudden they can’t pronounce it

Charcuterie is a common household name. Your name probably isn’t. Fuck dude just tell people how to pronounce your name, half the people are giving their kids name some wack ass spelling that doesn’t even make sense phonically.
