Cynthia Erivo is not a good actress in Wicked. She is an unbelievable singer, and has charisma for days! But her delicate features, and micro expressions, the nuance of her movements, and authenticity are dwarfed by the heavy costuming, hair and green. In my opinion, it makes her performance rather flat, with the exception of scenes with Ari where their genuine friendship and chemistry shines through Wicked

My unsolicited rebuttal would be that to take this fictional character and adjust the “character” profile to accommodate the race of the actor playing would be a disservice to the actor. You also said she wasn’t a good actor n the film because her costuming dwarfs her performance. But if costuming wasn’t her choice, how does that relate to HER not being good? Possibly rephrasing: W/O the absorbent costuming, more of Cynthia’s acting chops could have been realized
