I understand the anger at insurance companies. But I'm appalled by the glorification in some quarters of the murder of Brian Thompson. Yes, he was an insurance executive, but he was also a dad and certainly didn't deserve to be executed and have people jeer at his family's loss.

Oh stop with the dad bullshit. Mussolini was a dad, Bin Laden was a dad, Pol Pot was a dad. What difference does it make? How many hundreds of thousands of dads went bankrupt and ended up in the streets, lost their entire estate to medical bills or died because UHC denied them coverage to make Brian and the board of directors a few more bucks? We aren’t even talking about an ideologue here. Brian and his corporation destroyed people’s lives to make a line go up. Fuck him.

Nick, the internet is full of sick people. Next they'll be shooting the assistant manager at McDonalds for not giving them enough ketchup packets and cheering in bloodlust as they tear down the system 🙄

This is such a heartless non nuanced response from you Nick. Clearly Americans’ lives have been shattered bc of this man’s life work. People are absolutely allowed to say “ good riddance”. They’re not all about to pick up guns, but I can see why they’re satisfied and I’m not even American. Dig deeper Nick if you want to one day represent the people.

Whose jeering at his family’s loss. We are jeering at a man who’s caused massive suffering meeting an end that he could have avoided by not causing massive suffering.

Who are you blaming though? The people celebrating the death of someone they perceive as a mass murderer, or the system that created the mass murder? This is clearly the fault of money in politics, and a corrupt Congress, making shitty laws that UNH exploited. Not the angry people you’re so appalled by.

The only tragedy is that he didn't suffer longer.
