That is NOT ok for so many reasons but the most obvious one is the cowardice of sending a letter. I would absolutely refuse to speak to these people unless an administrator was present, even if it means a conference call.

I think it is amazing that in any other profession, a rude person would be asked to leave, while educators have to take the rudeness.

I once refused to release a 3 year old to a 14 year old who tried to collect her. I’d previously agreed ‘authorised’ people to collect with all my parents. The 14 year old was not on my list. Mother stormed into class 20 minutes later threatening to ‘punch my fucking lights out’ for not releasing her daughter. No thanks for being safety conscious.

I passed the letter off to admin and they are handling it, and then I’ve spent the evening on Glassdoor and Indeed. I feel like every year the parents are worse and worse. This class needed a “reset” because they are not reading directions on anything. I gave them a directions test where number 1 said to read through the page before doing anything. The last question said to only do number 2 (write your name) and number 3 (turn it in).

With any other profession, you can just refuse service. But here you have no choice. It's seriously a horrible situation. You are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I had that same test when I was in 6th grade, over 56 years ago!! I always remember that feeling when I realized I really didn’t follow the directions! It’s a good lesson and no one should be threatened by it! We need good teachers, I hope you keep on teaching.

Turn that letter in and if you get any more ugliness from him or her, ask your union to take care of it.
