They’ll get me in sooner ( Free). If I had been injured at a critical level, I would have gone to ER ( Free) and had an MRI the same day ( Free). Meanwhile, on a trip to the States when Obama was their Guy & I would still visit the States, I injured my wrist & my travel insurance paid out $4300 American for a visit to the clinic, and an X-ray. I paid an additional $425 out of pocket. Before I get the “ It’s not free” pushback - yes, I know. I pay $40 a month the rest in taxes, blah, blah, blah.

What province are you in where you get an MRI that fast? Even my surgeon referring me for a known rupture has a 6 month wait for an MRI before I can get my surgery.

Just curious, where do you get free physio? That's one thing that isn't free in Ontario for a long time. Though it is covered by my benefits so maybe that's what you mean...?

A few years ago the COO of my former company retired. He was Canadian. He made sure that his golden parachute included a provision for returning to the US for any medical treatment he wanted. I always wondered why that would be necessary if the Canadian system is better than ours?

When my oldest daughter was born, my wife was hoping to have a natural birth at a birth centre in Toronto. Contractions started around 12am, and we arrived at the birth centre along with her midwife around 1am. After 3 hours being assisted by the midwife and a doula, the contractions became too painful, and no signs of baby. We decided to go to the hospital.

It takes me 4 weeks to get an appointment with my doctor in Vancouver. I’m lucky though. Most people don’t have a family doctor here and can’t get one because they’re all at their max and not taking new patients.
