Charter does not simply mean better. No school is the same quality across the board.

Public Schools are funded through taxes. They are not for profit, so they are not an entity of a market where competition promotes quality. Quality is promoted through funding. School choice typically means vouchers, which don’t always cover the full cost of tuition, so many can’t benefit from them. They then just become a discount coupon for people who can already afford to send their kid to a private school. $ to fund vouchers is taken from the public schools 😕
