Interesting. Nuclear power is cheaper than renewable everywhere else on thr planet. So why is it going to be 300% more expensive here?

You can bet that Dutton’s nuclear costings will not include keeping the decrepit coal generators running, building and running extra gas generators and the damage to the climate while we are waiting for the ‘nuclear dream’ to appear.

Does that include factoring that building nuclear reactors at existing coal plant sites don’t require any new transmission lines compared to renewables that require capital spend for new transmission lines that can double the cost ?

Will nuclear reactors be impermeable to the natural disasters we’ve seen over the last five decades ? Seismic activity is going on all of the time, fires, floods etc Those in favour will argue they don’t occur but yeah they do. And what is the actual cost of processing the waste ? It can’t just be dumped in the ocean …
