There is less sex in books than there was 10 years ago. A lot less. But all of the authors who used to write sexy contemporary romance have been forced to pivot to illustrated cover trade paperbacks in order to survive in trad pub, and that reader base expects less sex (and plot and conflict, but we aren’t ready for that conversation).
