Ole Miss lost to Kentucky. Kentucky got crushed by Louisville. SMU beat Louisville. Ole Miss then lost to Florida who got dog walked by the third place team in the ACC. There is no evidence other than your personal opinion that shows Ole Miss is better than SMU. Bama lost to Vandy. Vandy lost to Georgia State. South Carolina on the other hand has no bad losses and has beaten good teams. SC has a case. Ole Miss and Bama do not.

Did I miss something? Did Clemson beat a bunch of SEC teams when they went to the Championship all those years back? SMU ran a full in-conference schedule. What am I missing? Also, Army should be in over Indiana. Army won their conference, handedly. Indiana didn’t even play for theirs. That’s the real punishment

At least Boise played Oregon at Autzen. Alabama lost conference games. Is the sec going to start playing even less conference games. Maybe follow up Mercer with Southern Miss?

No, they're punishing schools who repeatedly lose to unranked teams (i.e. Alabama & Colorado). Trying to pretend those losses don't exist or shouldn't matter doesn't change for a second they happened. My critique is more about Notre Dame getting worse seeding than PSU despite less losses and better record vs ranked teams this year.

The fix is, others having ranks and playing ALL your conferences only, and enter a playoff. Top 2 in conference move to play in playoffs, and we find a real winner then. Independent teams will learn that they're not competing with anyone but themselves.
