For all my TRAINED VOCALISTS, why was Ariana singing with her jaw like this?! 🥺😭 I liked her as Glinda, especially bc of how much she respected the character. I was just surprised to see such bad vocal technique in the first song when she talked about how much she prepared for this role! I studied both Opera & Musical Theatre & singing with your mouth & jaw was always a no no. Of course she has the range to hit the high notes but it sounded unsupported imo. Please tell me I’m not the only one!

24 分鐘內	Katya Martynuk (KATLANA) katlana_1	Opening your mouth/jaw helps get the sound out, no? Opens up the airway, less soft tissue in the way of the vocal cords and sound coming out. At least that's how i see it. Obviously you need to breathe properly and support your breath too. I also think she has a natural underbite that becomes more pronounced when she's singing

It was a musical choice and I think it works for her, she didn't want to be like Kristin. If she did it in the theater, I would be worried because it would probably be damaged due to bad technique so many times a week, but for a movie it's fine.
