Anyone else find it impossible to buy Christmas presents for their ageing parents? I know what they like but they already have it (in bulk) 🤷🏻♀️😅

Years ago, when my mom was still here, we went for a spa weekend. Only us, chatting and spending time together. She liked it so much, we went then every year, sometimes even twice a year. This was also good for me, to take a break from work, to relax a bit and enjoy time with her. Now I have some wonderful memories. Is there anything nicer than making your parents smile? Its so nice of you to think how to make them happy. I am sure you will get few good ideas here.

As a 60 something parent, I don’t need gifts, I have all I need but I would love more time with my family, kids and grandkids, I’m sure your parents would love more time with you rather than gifts

I usually replace their worn out shit because as they age they have become ridiculous penny pinchers. This year they are getting all new pots and pans. Good ones that I know they would never buy because of the price point.

We don’t want our children spend by money on us. I told my daughter we wanted an owl house to put up in the oak tree in our yard and nothing else. We have owls in our backyard She always buys us nice gifts but they have a mortgage and we don’t. Buy them something they enjoy it but doesn’t have to be big or expensive.

Om sure your parents would love you to take then out for the day, or a meal out they won't be there forever.

My mum's 85 and has Alzheimer's. I'm completely stumped. More perfume?

A foot massage and nail manicure voucher would be appreciated. As I get older it’s harder to comfortably reach my toes ! :-)

Make up a nice basket for them, fill it with handy things you know they will use. Some nice soaps, shower gel, some fluffy socks, crossword / puzzle books, magazines, luxury biscuits, luxury tea, coffee, hot chocolate and some nice sweet goodies. Maybe add a voucher for afternoon tea somewhere too 👍🎄

A gift that is personal. I framed a poem my grandma wrote for my grandpa. I also bound her other poems. Everyone got one. They all loved it. We tried to do something like this over the years. Notebooks with pictures of thru the years until marriage and kids, copies of grandmas favorite recipes, sweat sheet with handprints of grand kids. Make it personal

Give them gift certificates for an outing that you take them on each month. Parents want your time not stuff
