I have been dealing, or trying to deal, with trauma most of my adult life. The thing that has helped the most, so far, has been deconstructing my upbringing and understanding that I was made to fit a mold, not allowed to grow to my full self. Men under the patriarchy are bonsai trees, except it's not cute and quirky, it's actively harmful.
