MY CANADIAN HEALTHCARE HORROR STORY I have 4 kids & the 4th was a chubby chicken. Just after her 1st birthday she fell ill with what we initially thought was a little tummy bug, but I became increasingly concerned when she had not wet her nappy in many hours. Off to ER( it was a wknd) where the doc looked her over, pinched up the skin on her arm and watched it retract. I was told that she was not dehydrated, but I could just give her ice chips if she was having a hard time holding water down.
