I drove my stealth for 16 years. A clutch sucks in traffic. If you can, learn on something different. You don't want to burn your clutch or transmission. Make sure you change your timing belt every 60k. If you aren't positive it's been done do it now. If it breaks you will bend all your valves. Do the water pump at the same time.

Find a friend who's about to replace their clutch. Drive up a steep hill with someone directly behind you and stop several times. It's not hard. It's not any less convenient than an automatic unless you have an injury to your right hand or one of your feet. But you will be nervous until you can shift into first on a hill without either stalling or rolling back.

Pro: driving a stick is awesome

They’re fine if you know how to drive one. Practice in a big empty parking lot. Start in Neutral. If you are on a hill set parking brake. Release brake, push clutch in, gently give it some gas and slowly let clutch out. I drove Jill all over SF in my old VW Rabbit diesel and the hills were challenging even though I’d been driving the VW for a couple of years in less hilly terrain.

Stealth R/T?

Give yourself a week and you’ll have the hang of it. Give yourself more room at stoplights in case you go too hard in first gear at first. Driving stick is such a great way to feel connected to your car. Have fun!!!
