I was 17 years old. i was still at school, but the local marksandspencer needed Christmas staff, so they recruited at school. I was hired. Marks and Spencer is a sort of posh supermarket in the UK. I was working the days up until Christmas, stocking shelves, packing bags and moving trolleys. Now while I didn't go into the deep freeze, I had to go and collect turkeys to put in the store freezers. The guys who worked in the deep freeze wore the sort of clothes you would wear for Antarctica.
