You are right. The year counting is stupid. I think we should youse 12024, that would be more acurate on the actual time we started counting. ( Start of civilisation) +-10000 year BC

Christ (if he existed) was born somewhere between 4BC and 6AD depending on the gospel. So what in that decade range should we decide on?

BCE and CE are the standards for scientific and scholarly work. BC and AD are still commonly used. Who cares what someone believes? Language means the same thing either way.

Yes. Because we understand how religion shapes the world even if we don't agree with it. Some people use CE and BCE, but it's still based on the same mythology. A Christmas tree doesn't stop being pagan because you hang a baby Jesus on it. Same thing with time.

The Calendar used by most of the west is called Gregorian, after Pope Gregory XIII. He, and those he instructed, updated the and improved the calendar. We might have a difference in religious views, but we can’t deny that what was done is worthy of respect.

The western calendar is Gregorian anyway, so it’s based on the whims of a 15th century pope and has no basis in any natural cycles . You want to measure time accurately try using an ephemeris.

This has to be a troll post. There’s no way someone is this ignorant and still functional in society.

We are in the year 2024CE (Common Era) The Bronze Age was around 3300 – 1200BCE (Before Common Era) We no longer use BC/AD, as neither are based in fact.
