Before you leave comments under people’s healthcare horror stories make sure you understand how insurance works. I’ve held so many patients/spouses hand while they cried in disbelief that their otherwise wonderful insurer (until now) denies coverage in their hour of greatest need. They tell me how horrible, wrong, and illegal it should be. They blame providers, the facility, the social worker, etc. the insurers don’t care about you. They hope you die. It’s much cheaper.
