I'm finally getting around to doing my health insurance selection for next year. Like many self employed people, my insurer cancels my plan every year, which is super fun. One of my options is $1,159.00 per month and it pays out zero until you've spent $16,000. So you pay almost $30,000 before the insurance company deigns to pay anything. Great system, very functional.
