Never do. I've worked in healthcare my entire career and have always worked on Thanksgiving and Christmas. This is my second Christmas as a retired person. Now I prefer to spend it alone with my animals away from all the family drama and commercialism

It’s not compulsory to “do “ Christmas any particular way . I love the music , mostly classical , light one candle , simple supper , a little sigh for times past .
