“Sleep when the baby sleeps…” for the first week or two of recovery, sure. But then mama when the baby is sleep, clean that living room, wash bottles, fold clothes, and make yourself a quick drink. Oh & HURRY UP😭

The advice that I gave my DIL after her first baby: people will give you tons of advice, both good and bad. But you’re the mama, and you get to decide which advice to follow and which advice you ignore. Having a baby is a big adjustment, so be gentle with yourself.

Wait, I deff slept when the baby slept. 😭 I really hated the “add baby food and oatmeal to her bottle for better sleep” 🙄

The best advice I got when I was a new parent was “a lot of people will give you advice and they will not know what they’re talking about. Everyone makes it up as they go along and everyone’s kids are different. You’ll find out what works for you and what doesn’t.”

The cry it out, the “spoiling” the baby by literally holding said baby…. Like damn, y’all hate your kids??

In my maternity exercise class, the instructor asked the mamas to be what was some helpful and positive unsolicited advice we have received. The class went silent. I thought that was telling of our culture

Every day me or dad pick up our boy from daycare we give him the biggest hug because we missed him so much and they are like this must be your first child 🥲

My advice to a newmom would be don’t buy a crib buy a all in one bassinet saves lots of money and can be saved and reused for years 2. Don’t buy one can of milk UNLESS you have too and that’s al you have if you have extra always get a extra can never just buy 1 3. Don’t buy too many baby clothes just a couple few outfits at their sizes because they grow so quickly 4. Have bottle pre made before bed saves frustration on trying to find water and pouring when it already in the bottle just scoop

i post a photo of my son love to suck on empty bottle for a while before he going to sleep. i know he keep on having this different kind of habits for only like 2-3 weeks. then, one of my friend commented that its not good bcs my son will get colic, instead i have to give him pacifier. YOU THINK I DIDNT TRY TO GIVE HIM PACIFIERS??? I tried since day 1. but until now he refused it.

My mom who yells at me if I don’t warm my babies bottle fast enough, is trying to convince me to pierce my daughter ears because people keep asking if my baby is a boy. Her advice is that it’ll hurt less when she’s a baby compared to piercing them when she’s older. 😵‍💫😵‍💫
