Something has bothered me about crypto since it's inception... I've never been able to put my finger on it. The obvious "its not backed by anything" and "there's zero regulation / accountability / oversight" issues aside, it just strikes me as dystopian and destructive. Now as BTC has hit 100k and it is getting even more attention, I think I have figured out what bothers me. It is a religion. It depends 100% on faith, has zero proof or legitimacy other than belief. True believers scare me.
