Okay, but the Central American Republics were only five; Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. Panama belonged to Colombia until the US wanted to build a canal and Colombia didn't want to allow it. The US recognized Panama as a country so they could build the canal. Belize (Belice), formerly British Honduras, is on the Yucatan Peninsula, which is part of Mexico, therefore, I was assuming North America.

Central America is NOT part of North America, although USA thinks it’s their backyard. Central America is a region of only one continent called America, the same as the North American and South American regions.
