Well, I took one sip and knew. I rejected the drink. Then boss tried to bully me into having a good time. I said no vehemently. I asked if he was trying to harm me. I think I shamed him. I had no repercussions back in the office. I might have been young, but I was ready to stand up for myself.

I’m always amazed at how drinkers are so uncomfortable to be around a non-drinker they will literally become bullies to encourage the non-drinker to drink.

Being teetotal became so much easier once I had a car because then I had an ‘excuse’ for not drinking… lost count of the times I have been called boring just because I don’t drink.

I was at an event, where I ordered a soda, as I'd had a couple, and know my limit. (I wasn't driving, but did not want to get drunk). A few , including my boss, kept insisting to add rum . The server leant down as she walked away and whispered "i got you, don't worry" and brought me my soda. 🥰
