Wow! I had the complete opposite experience several years ago. My car died in an expensive neighborhood of Evanston, IL right by a park and the lake. I was waiting for a tow truck with my hood up and the flashers on. I'm white, and most of the people in that neighborhood are white as well. The only person who stopped to ask me if I was OK was a black woman. She went for a walk, and when she came back, I was still there. I didn't notice at first, but as it started getting dark, 1/2

I used to work for AAA I live in Tuscaloosa Alabama they wanted me to go all the way to Gulfport MS to Jumpstart someone. It was Easter Sunday I told them I'm not driving 300 miles for 1 minutes if work smfh

I’m sorry you had that experience. I’ve started carrying two items in my cars. A battery jumper & a tire pump. With Li Ion batteries powering these they are small and powerful. I’ve needed to use both multiple times when my battery was getting older & when I had slow leaks in my tires. You can find multitudes at online retailers. Totally worth it.

I’d have honestly offered to jump you. It’s not hard and I keep jumper cables in my car specifically for that reason!
