Portuguese in Macau Portuguese arrived in Macau in 1556 and handed back Macau in 1999, so Portugues has been in Macau for 543 years. And left behind beautiful churches. The one in the middle is the Ruins of St. PAUL CHURCH, now only the church front is left.
