The Christ resurrection myth was based on a Goddess myth: the Descent of Inanna, written around 1700 B.C. She descends to the Underworld, is stripped of all her worldly possessions, killed and hung by a nail on a wall for 3 days. She is then resurrected and ascends back to Earth, wiser and more powerful than before.
