Help and support are always welcomed, but it can turn ugly if someone tries to "fix" a person with Epilepsy. Do you have a story where someone assumed that because you have seizures you are somehow "broken"? EpilepsyAwareness

My parents assumed that. I have been living away from home for over a decade as I live in a foreign country. They've never seen me having a seizure so they assume that something needs to be fixed, I do not blame them as their understanding of epilepsy is limited and they are only doing it out of concern for my well-being. I don't get upset even when it comes from others as I know that the statement made is only coming from a good place. I am grateful.
