In the old days we bought albums based on the artwork, name of the album, producer, a review, a live show, a friend’s rec, a rec at the record store, and on occasion because we liked the artist. If the band wasn’t mainstream hearing/knowing a song before you bought an album wasn’t always a thing. The beauty of buying albums was putting the needle down and playing an album from beginning to end numerous times that’s how we came to know & love artists/bands.
