1/2 sourcing of materials is a concern but only needs to be done once and new battery chemistries are changing the impact. Disposal isn't an issue - batteries are potentially reusable for non-mobile applications, and definitely infinitely recyclable. Battery life isn't an issue, they'll likely outlive the usefulness of the rest of the car. Recharge time is only a concern on very long road trips, and even then only if you're unwilling to pause for 20-30 minutes every 2-4 hours.
