You need to treat that solid lane paint like it’s a curb unless there’s an emergency. I don’t entirely blame the motorist for thinking this way, the comm ave bike lane setup is awful, but you’re playing a dangerous game if you drive this way. Anyway, what’s the rush? Convenience shouldn’t come before safety.

Well, they shouldn’t have. And they should’ve checked their mirrors before moving over. Just like they should do before moving over into another vehicle lane. It’s really simple. If you can’t understand that simple task, don’t drive.

There’s nothing slight about a four thousand pound machine hitting your handle bars, forcing you to turn into it and getting leveraged into the ground. There’s nothing slight about a grade 3 AC joint tear and a grade 3 concussion. A lane violation into the bike lane is dangerous. What makes it most dangerous is that people just like you not only don’t notice, but you actively think you know better than to care. You would slowly close a vice on someone’s head while telling them it’s no big deal.

I see no imaginary motorist changing lanes. The vehicle ahead of him was already clear and the white vehicle next to him was going straight ahead. Somebody needs to grow up, that’s for sure.

They didn’t need to moveover at all, what they needed to do was stay in their lane and not enter a prohibited lane. Learn traffic laws and grow up child.
