I think it also becomes the case that when Black folks are lauded by the elite world, specifically academia, there’s an (unintended) detachment that takes place which allows them to think, talk, and write about the Black experience from a theoretical perspective that was indeed formed by the lived experience, as opposed to being entrenched in the difficulties of the lived experience on a day to day basis. But again, I’m just surmising.
